Collaborating with Man Made Land, Knippers Helbig and Mafeu Architektur Consulting, COBE Berlin has received 1st prize in an international competition to design Berlin’s “Urbane Mitte am Gleisdreieck,” a master plan located at the gateway to Gleisdreieck Park in Berlin, Germany.
The proposal integrates the neighbouring structures, including entrances and thresholds, taking advantage of the synergies present in the area and fostering their spatial relationships. The new center has an urban, metropolitan appeal and incorporates Berlin archetypes, such as the iron truss structures of transit stations and typical Berlin blocks and high-rises. The master plan will open to the park nearby, and offer Berliners and visitors a wide range of uses.
